About this tool

Aggregate IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes to consolidate route lists, normalize network IDs, and reduce unnecessary entries before policy or routing table updates.

Enter one address family at a time. The tool supports both IPv4 and IPv6 prefix aggregation.

Aggregate IPv4 / IPv6 prefixes into the smallest covering supernets.

Inputs

  • A list of IPv4 or IPv6 prefixes, one per line
  • Optional toggle: strict aggregation vs. allow gap-merge

Outputs

  • Aggregated prefix list (smallest covering supernets)
  • Count of input vs. output prefixes
  • Notes on adjacencies that could not be merged

Use Cases

  • Shrinking a large prefix-list before announcing upstream
  • Cleaning up overlapping route objects in IRR
  • Reducing churn in vendor configurations

Limitations

  • Pure aggregation — does not consider routing policy or vendor max-prefix
  • Does not pull live BGP data
